Religion, theism of any type requires a religion, has to have doctrine to be a religion. Another word for doctrine is dogma, though that requires it to be unquestionable like Christian or Islam.
Many religions have a simple doctrine, a few basic rules of live and let be one must follow to be allowed to hang with the club. But those ones also update their doctrine to accommodate new information and it's always up for debate.
These few good religions are called pagan or heathen now, and the followers are usually the best deluded people I have met. Delusion on it's own is dangerous if the doctrine that enforces it endorses dangerous behavior, pagans lack dangerous doctrine and thus, like us gamers, only want short escapes from reality.
This is not, in any way, moderate. Both the pagan and gamers are extremists, you either do it or you do not, there is no in between. Pagans will likely understand this better than anyone, in spite of many being far too tolerant of the other religions.
Your religion is your doctrine, and so it is what you should be judged by, what laws you keep in that doctrine are laws you agree can apply when your delusion so commands it. You thought I was going to point out all the bad things the followers do, didn't you?
What the followers do is not important, what they claim they obey is. If they claim that on part does not apply today, that means it did apply before and can apply again, they are saying that they agree with that law.
Claiming it's allegory only makes it worse, since a scientific method is not applied to determine what is allegory, everyone can interpret it mean whatever they want, and change that meaning for any reason they so choose. This is, in itself, dangerous behavior.
So the choice is not who doesn't actually hurt people versus those who do, it's if your doctrine claims you can hurt people for any reason. All religious people are extremists, because they all claim to follow a doctrine.
Us gamers can be pretty religious about gaming too, but lacking a doctrine it is not an actual religion.

Isms Are Not That Complicated
The "ism" is the most commonly misused, misrepresented, and misunderstood concept than any other part of language. The three most misused ones by theists are theism, materialism, and commercialism.
While other such adjectives are abused nearly as often, I will focus on these because even a few atheists and scientists abuse these three. An "ism" has nothing inherently to do with belief or worship, nor does it inherently have anything to do with obsession.
An ism is really just an adjective made out of a verb or noun, and that's it. Adding the suffix ism to something makes it "about this," in other words, a single descriptive trait. Thus, materialism is NOT "worshipping of material objects," it means "pertaining to the material world" or the physical world as opposed to the philosophical or imaginary world.
When a person is materialistic it means they are concerned with the physical world, such as food, shelter, safety, … on and on. It does not mean they worship luxury objects, theists often misconstrue this to distract people from the fact that they are greedy and often addicted to luxury objects more than anyone else.
Which brings us to the related, though also misused, adjective of commercialism. Commercialism applies to any system in whicb an arbitrary value is placed on something, even barter and trade is commercialism.
Money is just a marker of value, a scale used to measure the comparative values of everything, even your very life. You earn value by working for it, then you spend that value on things you need and want.
Corporatism is rarely abused as a word, but often people will mistakenly use commercialism when they intend to say corporatism. Corporatism is the incorporation of values, allowing a few elite to decide the worth or value of everything instead of society.
Enter capitalism, another commonly misused word. Capitalism is where the values are determined by society by popularity, what people are able and willing to give for something is it's value and nothing else impacts it.
Back to the original three before I stray too far. Everyone who wants to survive is materialistic, because surviving in the physical world requires that one be concerned with the physical world.
Everyone who adheres to a value system of any sort is a commercalist, if you place a value on your work you are a commercialist. If you believe a god exists then you are a theist, if you don't believe a god exists then you are technically an atheist.
Some isms do include belief, but belief is not inherent. So pull your heads out of your asses and learn to communicate, instead of making everything up like you do in church.

Islam is Humbug - So are the Other Gods.
Typically I do not focus on one particular religion or god, for none are innocent of horrible doctrine. However, the Abrahamic ones are the most offensive today, and they continue to kill because their imaginary god is so weak that it needs it's mortal followers to kill, torture, and oppress for it.
This includes the cults of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, they all worship the same war god and claim to follow nearly identical doctrine. All the doctrines of these cults are sadistic, violent, misogynistic, and insults to the species.
The sad tact is that the vast majority of followers of these doctrines either know little about their doctrine, or they lie about it to manipulate people into accepting their claims. The tip off is when they ask you to accept their claims without questioning it, they call it faith, the actual label is gullibility.
The god of Islam is so weak, such a whiny little brat, that the believers have to do all it's work for it. If this god truly existed it should be able to fend for itself, if it is worthy of anyone's worship, but instead it must demand the mortals carry out it's demands.
The Christian god is no different, as Christians in the USA demonstrate constantly. It is almost as if neither of these beliefs are accurate, or perhaps this particular god does not actually exist, like Thor and Bast, this god of Abraham is nothing more than myths of deluded old men in a time that we thought the universe revolved around us.
Judaism is much like the others but remains quiet and to itself, much like the only tolerable cult of Christianity called the Amish. The others are in a sad frenzy trying to prove their god exists while ultimately demonstrating that their god does not exist except in their own minds.
Insulting Islam is suppose to be a death sentence, but the god they follow seems oddly absent when insults are made and it's followers have to carry out this sentence instead. Making it impossible to believe that this god even exists, if it is unwilling to defend itself, or it is such a weak little rodent that the claws of human intelligence can shred it should it make it's presence known.
The Christian and Judaic god is weak against iron chariots, the Islam god is weak against humor. The more we think on this, the more likely these gods died a long time ago, dead of old age because they were nothing more than power hungry men that figured out how to take advantage of the deluded minds of timid and inconsequential men.
As I look outside I see the damage done by religion, men clinging to women as if they are property, women moving out of the way to allow the males to pass unhindered. Children afraid to speak up when they know their parents are wrong, nature trampled and banned from the city as if it has no value or is worth less than our species.
Technology wasted in the hands of those who just search for kitty videos and claims made by their leaders so they don't have to think for themselves. People still watch television or listen to the radio for news, this is simply asking to be spoonfed lies and garbage.
Change is resisted because of the religious mindset, a mindset that plagues many atheists in this country as well. Science is leant an ear only when it does not suggest any change, or the change is comforting.
This is all because of religious parents being allowed to indoctrinate the children, and religion being given a special exception to every law. An atheist must justify our actions with sound logic and evidence, while a religious person is allowed to hate, bully, even kill in almost all countries simply because it's their belief.
This privilege must no longer be tolerated, if you cannot present a clear and definitive danger then you cannot excuse killing anything, even the animals that are not human. If the words do not incite hate or are said in jest, then you have no cause for persecution of the one who penned them.
You have a right to be offended, you do not have a right to harm those who offend you, and it is time we enforce the right to offend across the globe. So pen those jokes, post those offensive ideas, make a mockery of the delusions we call religions until everyone knows it is not acceptable to be deluded.
